New for 2007, Shakesperience:
NJ is an opportunity for students from diverse schools
in grades 5-12 to spend an entire day together engaging in
live Shakespeare— as actors and as an audience.
Over the course
of four days at two festival sites, groups of students from
across the state (English classes, theatre classes, drama
clubs and others) will gather for a full-day celebration of
Shakespeare and student achievement.
Shakesperience:
NJ is the result of a partnership between The
Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Rider
University, and the Folger
Shakespeare Library, institutions dedicated to
advancing learning and the arts, with a shared belief in the
power of Shakespeare in performance.
Funding for Shakesperience:NJ
is provided by a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
